With it being six years since the last Scary Movie film, there hasn’t be exactly a whirlwind fan response demanding its return. Nonetheless things are moving forward, but likely without its main star. Anna Faris, who has appeared in all four previous films as Cindy Campbell, first spoke at a press conference for her upcoming comedy The Dictator saying she doesn’t know if she’ll be involved. Then just this weekend she followed up saying more definitively, “No, I don’t think I’m going to do it. I don’t think I’m part of that.” [Latino Review, Coming Soon]

Despite the lead actress likely not returning, series regulars Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall, and Kevin Hart, who has exploded since the last film, have all expressed interest in reprising their roles. And we now know at least one of the movies that will be spoofing. When it comes to this series, I wouldn’t be surprised if every film that grossed at least $100 million in the last half-decade and is in the public consciousness will get poked fun at. According to Bloody Disgusting, this film definitely falls into that category, as they report Darren Aronofsky‘s Black Swan is set to be the “core” of the story this time around.

Update: Know the Artist (via First Showing) has the official synopsis of the film from a casting call, confirming the Black Swan ties. Read it below:

The story in Scary Movie 5 involves the dance world, with a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French director of a dance company named Pierre putting on a huge production. Jody, a Caucasian late-20’s mother of two and her late-20’s African American friend Kendra are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30’s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry, gets cut from the production and goes berserk.

I could actually see Faris nailing an impression of Natalie Portman‘s Nina, but I’m sure producers will find someone that can take her proverbial ballet shoes. The plot of Black Swan certainly aids this genre, as other spoofed movies can possibly be surreal happenings around our lead, but that is about as much hypothesizing I’m willing to exert on a fifth Scary Movie.

With a release date of January 11th, 2013, Undercover Brother director Malcolm D. Lee is set to direct.

Are you sad to see Faris likely go? What do you think about Black Swan being the main spoof?
