With production set to kick off in a matter of weeks, David Fincher has found his Gone Girl with Rosamund Pike and the man who will be searching for her with Mr. Bruce Wayne himself, Ben Affleck. Now comes the matter of a supporting cast and after some rumored names, his confirmed choices will certainly have one a bit puzzled.
According to Deadline, Tyler Perry has been set in the role of Tanner Bolt, the attorney of Affleck’s character, who assists him when he starts getting into a bit of potential legal trouble. In a funny tidbit, Fincher was actually convinced Perry could take the role after watching the much-maligned Alex Cross.
Also previously rumored was How I Met Your Mother‘s Neil Patrick Harris, who is now confirmed for an undisclosed role, but perhaps one of Amy’s ex-boyfriend. Rounding out the rest of the cast is Kim Dickens (At Any Price) and Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous), who play the detectives on the search for Amy Dunne (Pike), who mysteriously goes missing on her anniversary. Lastly, Carrie Coon will play Nick Dunne’s (Affleck) twin sister, while David Clennon (Syriana) takes the role of Amy’s father.
Expect a 2014 release for Gone Girl, which will see cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth reteam with Fincher.
