I suppose most of us knew this news was coming. Hot on the heels of confirmation that character actor Frank Grillo is to step up to the big time as the villain Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, comes news that he will be joined by Marvel regulars Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Cobie Smulders as Nick Fury, Black Widow and S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill, respectively [First Showing].
While their level of involvement in the film is not yet known (not unlike the majority of the film), hopefully the sequel, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, will not devote an entire second act to superflous plot development for another movie as Iron Man 2 so infamously did.
But let us not forget Anthony Mackie‘s involvement as the Captain’s new sidekick Falcon, which is promising.
