With Henry Cavill putting the cape back on for his sophomore outing as Superman, Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. having been deciding on who will fill out the rest of the ensemble. Expanding the universe by adding Batman (played by Ben Affleck, in case you haven’t heard the never-ending fanboy tears), the summer 2015 tentpole will also be adding Wonder Woman. As rumors swirled of Olga Kurylenko, Jaimie Alexander, Elodie Young and more, today a decision has find been made: WB have announced Gal Gadot has been cast in the role for Batman vs. Superman.
Gadot’s most notable roles thus far have been in the Fast & Furious franchise, recently taking part in this past summer’s sixth iteration. She’s also been seen in Knight and Day and Date Night, but it goes without saying that this career turn will easily provide her biggest exposure. With more rumors of Lex Luthor, Nightwing and Doomsday finding a spot in the film, it’s far from the last casting announcement to arrive for this one, which kicks off production early next year.
Batman vs. Superman opens on July 17th, 2015.
