If Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master isn’t your thing, then this should be up your alley. It’s easy to poke fun at Kevin James, with his lackluster recent efforts, but color me surprised at the first trailer for latest comedy (or maybe inspirational drama), Here Comes the Boom. Following James as a high school teacher turned MMA fighter, this parody for Warrior doesn’t seem to have same cringe-worthy antics found in the last film from director Frank Coraci, Zookeeper. There are some funny gags and while I can’t actually nail down the intended tone, it looks like a decent way to pass the time. Check out the trailer below for the film also starring Henry Winkler and Salma Hayek.
Here Comes the Boom hits theaters October 12th.
