Rings 1

It’s been over a decade since The Ring franchise last haunted our screens, but it’s now back this Halloween with Rings. After Gore Verbinski helmed the 2002 remake hit, then the original Ringu director Hideo Nakata took on the sequel,  it’s now been handed to F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall). Ahead of an October release, the first trailer has landed.

While we aren’t exactly clamoring for a new entry into the franchise, there is a plethora of haunting imagery in the trailer, from bleeding television sets to a hairball to end all hairballs to a bumpy plane ride. Check out the trailer below for the film starring Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…
