Long gone are the days where Mr. Roarke (Ricardo Montalban) would cordially greet visitors to his luxurious island where guests could have every desired fulfilled, with the added caveat that their characters would be tested along the way for enrichment, with new characters arriving at the island for betterment on a weekly syndication. As can be seen in this startling trailer, Blumhouse, Sony Pictures, and director Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare) has twisted the nostalgic property into a horror fable just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Michael Pena steps into Montalban’s shoes as this film’s iteration of Mr. Roarke, the charismatic owner of Fantasy Island, where every desire is fulfilled–but not everything is as picturesque and idyllic as it seems. The actualization of their fantasies become literal nightmares and the guests only means of escaping with their lives is to solve the mystery of Fantasy Island.

Co-starring Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Portia Doubleday, and Michael Rooker, see the trailer and poster below.

The enigmatic Mr. Roarke, makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.

Fantasy Island opens on February 14, 2020.
