With audiences’ never-ending fascination of prehistoric creatures, Hollywood has churned out new variations on the dinosaur tale time and time again. The latest has them attempting a more realistic experience, featuring no dialogue and all CGI with Walking With Dinosaurs.

We got an international trailer earlier this month for the 20th Century Fox project, but now the Americanized version has arrived, featuring more audience-friendly voiceover and, of course, a pop song. Directed by Barry Cook (Arthur Christmas, Mulan) and Neil Nightingale, this one has us reminded of a naturalist take on my childhood favorite The Land Before Time, so hopefully it delivers. Check the domestic trailer out below.

Synopsis:

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE MOVIE is the ultimate immersive, big-screen, 3-D experience. Recent discoveries and a breakthrough in technology will introduce new and unique dinosaurs that are more real than ever before and put moviegoers in the middle of a thrilling prehistoric adventure, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs against all odds to become a hero for the ages.

Walking with Dinosaurs arrives on December 20th.
