The rumor mill surrounding Megan Fox‘s departure from the third Transformers film continues with Fox now claiming she quit the film (contrary to earlier reports that she was fired). The star, who spoke out against director Michael Bay‘s on set behavior last year, is said to have had enough of his abusive actions and left the project of her own choosing. Jeff Sneider of The Wrap speculates that the relationship between Paramount’s chairman Brad Grey and Deadline blogger Nikki Finke may have had something to do with the way the story broke (which was heavily in Paramount’s favor).
Whichever way the story spins (I, for one, am on Team Fox), news of her replacement will be a hot topic for the next few weeks. Early reports were suggesting Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia) was in line to take over the role but the folks over at The Playlist have been wise to remain cautious during this frenzied rumor mill. They cite a source close to the film that suggests Arterton is not even close to being the frontrunner for replacing Fox.
I’d love to see Zoe Saldana take over but I also don’t wish Michael Bay upon anyone. Nobody deserves that curse!
