With the first trailer finally set to drop tomorrow, we have the first footage of Timur Bekmambetov’Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. 20th Century Fox recently invited a number of journalists to Springfield, Illinois, where they visited Lincoln’s Tomb in an attempt to hype up this summer blockbuster. CBS News among them, they revealed the first peek at this Tim Burton-produced period action film.

There isn’t a lot to go on, but the Wanted director seems to be heavily employing his slow-motion ramping effects again. I’m still quite hesitant on this film and I hope the full trailer this week changes my mind. Check out the quick snippets below as star Benjamin Walker talks us through some of the experience.

Synopsis:

The film explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, also starring  Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie,  Rufus Sewell and Erin Wasson and Dominic Cooper, hits theaters June 22nd.
