After since kicking ass in Hanna, Saoirse Ronan is quickly becoming the go-to for young female action stars. I saw her do it in the Toronto film Violet & Daisy with Alexis Bledel, while she is recently attached to Disney’s warrior film Order of Seven. Next on her docket is Neil Jordan‘s vampire tale Byzantium. Following “a mother and daughter vampire duo [who] form a deadly pact, we have the first look today from Deadline for the Ondine follow-up also starring Gemma Arterton, Sam Riley, Caleb Landry Jones, Jonny Lee Miller and Danny Mays. Above we can see a bloodied Ronan who looks to recently have had a tasty meal. I’m worn on this genre, but I enjoyed the first two-thirds or so of Jordan’s last film, so will look out for this.

We’ve also got the first batch of images for the Eli Roth-produced earthquake film Aftershock. The film quietly went into production a few weeks back and we got a new update last week on the film directed by popular foreign helmer Nicolas Lopez. The horror/thriller surrounds a Chilean earthquake and takes place after the February 27th, 2010 disaster that killed over 480 people. There was an insane asylum on the island and hell breaks loose, as we can see in some of the new bloody stills below from /Film. Check out the rest on their site for the film also starring teen idol Selena Gomez and foreign actors Ariel Levy, Nicolas Martinez and Lorenza Izzo also star, along with Natasha Yarovenko, Andrea Osvart and Miguel Asensio.
