What better way to brighten up your afternoon then a new batch of posters? At least, this first one should. After an international poster earlier this week, we’ve got the debut US one-sheet for Harmony Korine‘s twisted party movie Spring Breakers. Coming from Vulture, who also revealed a slight change of release plans, with the film now landing in limited release on March 22nd before expanding the following weekend, the poster features an armed Vanessa Hudgens complete with a fitting neon glow. Also starring James Franco, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine, read our glowing review from TIFF here and read on for more posters.
FilmDistrict has also let loose the first poster for their upcoming crime thriller Dead Man Down, following the trailer debut. Coming from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev, he reteams with Noomi Rapace and adds Colin Farrell, Dominic Cooper, Terrence Howard and Isabelle Huppert. Opening on March 8th, check it out below thanks to MTV.
We’ve also got the official US theatrical poster for Australian director Cate Shortland‘s drama Lore. Debuting last year on the festival circuit, the WWII drama is set in the spring of 1945 and follows a girl (Saskia Rosendahl) on the run. Check it out below thanks to The Playlist for the film debuting in limited release on February 8th.
20th Century Fox has also debuted the first theatrical poster for their upcoming summer animation Epic. Based on William Joyce’s childrens book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, one can actually see some similarities between this film and the last Joyce adaptation, Rise of the Guardians, in terms of character design and tone. Check it out below for the film featuring a voice cast of Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Christoph Waltz, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari, Blake Anderson, Judah Friedlander and Beyoncé Knowles.
Next up, we’ve got a poster for a film that was barely on our radar, but certainly is now. Premiering over on Film School Rejects, the one-sheet for the documentary Happy People: A Year in the Taiga reveals co-direction credit to none other than Werner Herzog. Alongside Dmitry Vasyukov, the duo explore the indigenous people who live in the Siberian Taiga in this film, set to debut on January 25th.
Lastly, we’ve got a new poster for a film set to debut at Sundance Film Festival in just a short time. The Rambler, coming from The Oregonian director Calvin Reeder, is a western that stars Dermot Mulroney, an actor who showed talent last year in The Grey. While the initial poster, from Entertainment Weekly, is a bit plain, we’re certainly excited to see the actor in a role like this one. Check it out below.
Which film are you most anticipating? What poster is your favorite of the batch?
