Next month, Japan will see the release of the the next film from Studio Ghibli mastermind Hayao Miyazaki, marking his first feature since 2008’s Ponyo. Set for a July 20th bow the project is titled The Wind Rises and takes its inspiration from the director’s own manga and a novel by Tatsuo Hori. Following Jirō Horikoshi, a man best-known for designing the Zero Fighter plane used in bombing Pearl Harbor, we’ve now got new images of the entire, varied main ensemble of the film. If one can read Japanese, check out bios on their main site, but everyone else can see the character stills below, along with the new Japanese theatrical poster, for the film featuring the voice acting of Hideaki Anno, Miori Takimoto, Steven Alpert, Morio Kazama, Keiko Takeshita, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Mirai Shida, Mansai Nomura and Masahiko Nishimura.
