While some of the shine has come off last summer’s grounded family drama, The Kids Are All Right, the reputation of its co-writer Stuart Blumberg, who scripted the pic along with writer/director Lisa Cholodenko, is gaining steam with expectations he’ll earn some Oscar attention when the nominations are revealed this week. According to The Playlist Blumberg is using this new clout to develop a vehicle for The Kids co-star, Mark Ruffalo, in which the offbeat leading man will play one of three male sex addicts struggling with recovering in Thanks for Sharing.
At this point, little else is known about this proposed production, but one can assume by Blumberg’s filmography (MADtv, The Girl Next Store, and Keeping the Faith) that Thanks for Sharing will be a comedy as quirky as its attached leading man. With Ruffalo getting his Hulk on for the first part of this year, it looks like Blumberg’s got time to craft and cull together an enticing cast.
Who would you like to see co-star with Ruffalo? Are you intrigued by Thanks for Sharing?
