constantine

Producer Laren Shuler Donner recently spoke to SciFiwire where she dropped some hints on X-Men: First Class and the longly talked about Constantine 2. The most interesting part of this article is that she states that X-Men: First Class may be more aimed for kids.

I like kids. I did produce Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire. I do like those kind of teenage movies; I really do. Part of it takes me to my roots. It’s action. There seems, to me, to be more humor, or more potential for humor. I really like that idea. The relationship … I don’t want to get into what the script is about, but it provides a bit of a lighter touch to the franchise.

I don’t care much for the idea X-Men: First Class, it just sounds like The O.C. with mutants to me. A Constantine sequel interests me a lot more, despite some story telling problems, Constantine was a lot of fun. John Constantine is a great character, Keanu Reeves did a good job playing him, and it could make for a successful franchise.

What do you think of a kid friendly X:Men First Class? Do you want a Constantine 2?
