If you clicked this article with no reason to have anticipation for the project, before you read any further head on over to Netflix where you can stream the first two stellar features from Norwegian director Joachim Trier, Reprise and Oslo, August 31st. Alright…back? Now that you are intrigued, Screen Daily is reporting that the helmer has secured his English-language debut.
With a cast including Isabelle Huppert, Gabriel Byrne and Jesse Eisenberg, the drama is titled Louder Than Bombs and follows a husband (Byrne) and two sons (one being Eisenberg) looking back at the career of their wife and mother, respectively. Huppert will be playing the famous war photographer who died three years prior and “an unsettling secret from her past” is revealed.
Trier commented, saying “Louder Than Bombs is a character-driven piece so I am obviously thrilled to have such incredible actors working with me on this. Isabelle, Jesse, and Gabriel are all actors I have wanted to work with for a long time, so having them play together as one family feels remarkable.” Production begins this fall in the United States and Germany for a likely 2014 festival bow.
