Having secured his top players with Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine, Christopher Nolan is now making his sci-fi blockbuster Interstellar a Rachel Getting Married reunion. According to The Wrap, Bill Irwin, who has also popped up in How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Across the Universe, has booked an undisclosed role in the film that follows a group of explorers that enter another dimension via a wormhole. Production kicks off this summer for a November 2014 release.
Another reunion is also in the works, but in a wildly different genre. According to Deadline, Community stars Chevy Chase and Gillian Jacobs will reunite for Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Currently in production, the Vacation star appeared briefly in the original as a repairman and now he’ll be back with Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke, with John Cusack opting out this time. As for Jacobs she’ll be taking the lead female role and joining fellow newcomer Adam Scott. Directed once again by Steve Pink, expect a 2014 release for the comedy.
Lastly, after Terrence Malick gave him his break-out role in The Tree of Life, up-and-comer Tye Sheridan proved himself yet again in Jeff Nichols‘ Mud. He’ll next be seen in David Gordon Green‘s Nicolas Cage-led Joe later this year, but now THR lets us know his follow-up role. According to the trade, he’s set to star alongside Kaitlyn Dever in Grass Stains, a coming-of-age film from Kyle Wilamowski that follows a teen falling in love for the first time amongst tragedy. Production begins this month for a likely 2014 bow.
Which of the above projects are you most looking forward to?
