Although Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Drive screams Los Angeles with its beautiful cinematography, the film debuted at Cannes Film Festival and now we have a French poster that just seems right for the Best Director-winning film. (Note: It did later play at Los Angeles Film Festival and this poster fits that style quite nicely).
This latest poster via IMPAwards takes a still and transforms it into a slick design with fitting typography. Check it out below for the film starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and Oscar Isaac. The trailer is here and I encourage you to check it out, as this is one of my favorite films of the year.
Drive hits theaters on September 16th, 2011 after showing at the Toronto International Film Festival. Check out our interview with Gosling and Refn here from Cannes, as well as our review.
We also have another fairly simplistic poster Bennett Miller‘s Moneyball. I like the first one much better, but for selling the film on Brad Pitt‘s face, this works. I mean, just look at that B-R-A-D P-I-T-T header. The drama, written by this year’s The Social Network Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin, is based on Michael Lewis‘ nonfiction bestseller Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. It stars Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, Stephen Bishop, Kathyrn Morris, and Chris Pratt. Check it out below via IMPAwards.
Moneyball hits theaters on September 23, 2011 after premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Last up we have the first poster for 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo‘s horror flick Intruders. The film stars Clive Owen (Inside Man, Children of Men) and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds). We got an extended trailer a few weeks ago, but this Spanish poster reeks of poor Photoshop and design. It looks like Owen dives in as a firebolt, but it does let us know that the film will likely be premiering at TIFF, if you see the logo in the bottom right. I hope we get that announcement soon. For now, check out the poster below via IMPAwards.
Intruders hits theaters September 7th.
