That’s right, a remake of Red Dawn is now a fall festival title. While many of us thought this one would just go straight to theaters, seemingly some faith is in this movie from director Dan Bradley. We got a bland trailer a little while ago and now Fantastic Fest has announced the film is set to close their Austin-based movie extravaganza at the end of the September, around two months before it hits theaters. Festgoers will be able to enjoy a Korean-invasion-themed party post-screening, with attendance from stars Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki. With Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also starring, one can see new stills above and below via E Online/MTV.
Synopsis:
In “Red Dawn,” an American city awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.
Red Dawn premieres on September 27th at Fantastic Fest and then arrives in theaters on November 21st.
