Mark this one down as a crazy, unsubstantiated rumor. Music Rooms has a “source” close to Indiana Jones 5 and has revealed the following information:
- Indiana Jones 5 will start shooting next year.
- The plot will be centered around the Bermuda Triangle.
- Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are almost done with the script.
- Harrison Ford is on “stand-by” to film next year.
- It will be “an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet.”
- Shia LaBeouf will return in a “central role” as Mutt Williams, the son of Indy.
- It will be a ‘blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie.”
Last we heard is that there was a “germ of an idea” floating around and a possible 2012 release. All of these new rumors seem very easy to…make up. If it really is gearing up for production I’m sure we will hear soon. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull made almost $800 million worldwide, so it’s no surprise we will see another one. Hopefully there’s no need for LaBeouf-style apologizing this time.
Spielberg’s next features, the drama War Horse and his sci-fi blockbuster The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, hits theaters August 2011 and a few months later in December, respectively.
What do you want to see in a final Indiana Jones film?
