Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier, may be due for production this spring, but word has com in that its co-directors, Joe and Anthony Russo are concurrently developing a very different project, an inspirational, true-life drama titled, Life Briefly. The family film is based on the triumphant, story of Brian Knapp. a young Iowan boy who turned his early-age, disability of blindness into an ability of musical brilliance. He wrote several original songs and played alongside country legends such as Jonny Cash at the age of nine before he unexpectedly succumbed to his illness in 1987.
Brandon Willer will scribe the film for the brothers and it will center on Knapp’s relationship with his father, who helped him to overcome his handicap and use it as a tool for greatness in the realm of country music. Charlize Theron (Monster, Prometheus) is already attached to star, but there has been no word on when we could see this go into production and considering the Russo brothers’ superhero-filled schedule, it could be as far away as 2014. Theron is also attached to star in and produce Willer’s City of Refuge, which made the Black List in 2011 before being optioned by Inferno Entertainment. [Variety]
