After they likely brush shoulders at the Oscar ceremony at the end of the month, host Seth MacFarlane and Les Miserables actress Amanda Seyfried will be seen together again, this time on the big screen. Following the break-out success of his directorial debut Ted, the next film from the Family Guy creator is coming together rather quickly and today we have another casting update.
After Charlize Theron hopped on board to MacFarlane’s western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Hollywood Reporter chimes in that Seyfried is now in talks. Described as a Blazing Saddles-esque comedy, MacFarlane will lead the film as “a sheepish farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend (Seyfried) leave him. When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw (Theron) who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman.”
After a string of serious turns, it’ll be nice to see Seyfried have some fun here with Theron and MacFarlane. She’ll also be seen in the biopic Lovelace, which we reviewed at Sundance, as well as this summer’s Epic and The Big Wedding. Production on A Million Ways kicks off in May for a likely 2014 release alongside Ted 2.
