While we’ve already laid out our favorite films of 2014, as always, the Oscars are late to the game with their prolonged awards season. Set to unveil winners on February 22nd, the 87th Academy Awards ceremony have announced their nominations today. Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel led the charge with nine nominations each, while The Imitation Game got eight and Boyhood and American Sniper each turned up with six. In terms of snubs, The LEGO Movie and Life Itself were left out of their respective categories, while Gone Girl only turned up with one nomination: Rosamund Pike for Best Actress.
