For five seasons on Comedy Central, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key‘s aptly named Key & Peele ushered in a fresh phase of comedy with countless memorable, hilarious sketches. Although they’ve been featured in many movies, the duo are now getting their own feature with Keanu, which follows their mission to infiltrate a drug cartel to get back their kidnapped cat. Coming from long-time Key & Peele director Peter Atencio, the first red band trailer has now arrived.
“This entire movie was basically the most expensive adorable-kitten video of all time,” Peele tells EW. “Overall it’s meant to satirize how pop culture paints masculinity and what it means to be African-American — and how many of us don’t fit into the mold expected of us.” Also starring Method Man, Gabrielle Union, and Will Forte, check out the trailer and poster below ahead of an April release by Warner Bros.
Update: See the green band version below.
Keanu opens on April 29th.
