With filming kicking off this week for the magician comedy Burt Wonderstone, the first photos from teh set have arrived. The comedy, written by the Horrible Bosses duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, has a fantastic ensemble cast of Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde, Steve Buscemi, James Gandolfini, Jay Mohr and Brad Garrett.
These set photos, taken at the Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas feature a slick/slimy-looking Carell performing what looks to be a David Blaine-esque tank trick, joined by Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi. Those come from Socialite/CS, while we also get a look at Gandolfini via a picture tweeted by David Copperfield. I’m just waiting on a last minute casting announcement of Will Arnet‘s GOB character from Arrested Development.
Don Scardino’s film follows “a more traditional magic man (Carell) who is dethroned by a hipper illusionist (Carrey) doing dangerous tricks and breaks up with his partner then must find a way to rediscover his love for magic.
