It was precisely a month ago when we learned — along with premiering two new films this year — Terrence Malick was planning to direct a perfume commercial for Guerlain starring Angelina Jolie. As the new face of the French company’s campaign for their fragrance Mon Guerlain, Jolie is donating her entire paycheck to a charity of her choosing, and now they’ve kicked things off with the launch of the ad.
Backed by Andy Quin‘s gorgeous song “Awakening” — used previously by Malick in the trailer for To the Wonder — it’s a beautiful, one-minute commercial that features the director’s angelic imagery of nature, his star, and, of course, some perfume.
