Attention aspiring filmmakers: The Internet is a big place, full of a lot of everything. Some of it’s not half bad. Some of it’s better than that. Here’s a little diddy that lives in the latter, a short film/commercial for HBO Boxing After Dark directed by up-and-coming filmmakers Liam O’Neil and Jason Koburov (directing team Contraband). Both worked for RSA (Ridley Scott Associates), O’Neil from 2004-07 and Koburov from 2005-10, the film and commercial production company. See it below in today’s Daily Distraction.
Made for around eight grand, this a small film that shows what can be done for next to nothing. YouTube was the platform here and has catapulted these two young bucks to opportunities they were only reading about two years ago, full of lush meetings with studio execs and irritating conversations about properties with agents and the like. If you are a fan of the above video check out their Paradise Square Films site and reel below.
People are watching, so make your movies and get them out there!
What can you do for a few thousand dollars? What do you think of their short?
