Update: See the first trailer here.
After a few delays and years of anticipation, our first look at Alfonso Cuaron‘s follow-up to Children of Men has arrived — but sadly, Warner Bros. has butchered it. The studio has decided to go with Entertainment Tonight to debut the first-ever footage from their upcoming sci-fi epic Gravity, filled with annoying voice-over, obtrusive inserts and running only about four seconds. It’s a truly disappointing way to unveil one of our most hyped films of the year and we’ll reserve any comments until the first trailer Thursday. If one desires, they can check it out below for the film featuring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
Gravity opens on October 4th.
