It’s a good day for the creative forces involved in the V/H/S films. The duo of Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett found their next film, while the sequel to the aforementioned horror film got into another festival and now another director who contributed to the original horror anthology has signed on to a new project.
If one were to ask, David Bruckner crafted the best short in the original 2012 film, the terrifying opening segment titled Amateur Night and now, according to Deadline, he’s been set up with a thriller titled Intrusion.
Scripted by L.D. Goffigan (Hunger — no, not that one), the film follows a young woman who moves to San Francisco and then her life starts to crumble when she starts being stalked by a disturbed individual. The synopsis adds, “as the assaults and creepy incidents escalate she realizes that she has become the target of something far more sinister and horrifying.”
Bruckner’s debut, The Signal, created some significant buzz, at least enough to get him the V/H/S gig and he’ll next be shooting The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes for Dimension Films. After that completes, production for Intrusion will kick off later this year for a likely late 2014 release.
