While Judd Apatow has been busy on the producing side with everything from the record-setting Bridesmaids to Lena Dunham‘s divisive HBO show Girls, the comedy director is finally getting back behind the camera for the first time since Funny People. This is 40 marks a “sort-of” sequel to his 2007 hit Knocked Up, following the married couple of Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann.
While the first teaser was a bit disappointing, we’ve got a more promising look today in the form a full-length one. With a better sense at Apatow’s honest, funny approach it’s hard not be charmed by Rudd. There’s also some hilarious stuff from Chris O’Dowd and it’s nice to see Broadcast News and Drive star Albert Brooks show up here. Taking a look at an age Apatow knows well, it’s nice to have him back behind the camera. Check it out below via Yahoo for the film starring Jason Segel, Lena Dunham, Megan Fox, Melissa McCarthy, Charlyne Yi, John Lithgow and Annie Mumolo.
This is 40 hits theaters on December 21st, 2012.
