Blue Sky Studios have found much success with their Ice Age series, as another iteration is coming next month. But when it comes to original properties, the animation studio debuted Rio last year and next summer sees another feature from the filmmaking group. Titled Epic, they’ve created what looks to be an enchanting forest world, which certainly takes some cues from Ferngully, with its miniature creatures and general lush design.
Featuring voice acting from Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Blake Anderson and Judah Friedlander, the film follows a teen girl who gets shrunk down and must find her way inside this universe. Teaming together with the creatures here, she is tasked with saving their world. While the animation isn’t completely polished yet, one can check out the promising first tailer below via GMA.
Epic hits theaters May 24th, 2013.
