How does one exactly dive into the mind of one of the most-educated figures on the planet? If you’re the inventive Michel Gondry, the answer is animation. After sitting down for a conversation with American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, logician, political commentator and activist Noam Chomsky, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director created a series of animations that would form the film Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?.

The first trailer has now landed today, which previews some of the intellectual’s thoughts and mixes in Gondry’s own illustrations, making for quite a fascinating portrait. Check it out below for the film hitting theaters on November 22nd and VOD three days later, a a few weeks before Chomsky celebrates his 85th birthday.
