After leading the James Bond franchise, Pierce Brosnan is returning to the action genre with a new thriller The November Man, bringing along Bond girl Olga Kurylenko for the ride. Based on Bill Granger‘s There Are No Spies, the film follows Brosnan as an ex-CIA operative who is brought back in on a very personal mission and finds himself pitted against his former pupil in a deadly game involving high level CIA officials and the Russian president-elect.
The first trailer has dropped today, which is light on plot, but heavy on action and Brosnan walking away from explosions. Coming from director Roger Donaldson, hopefully this is more in the vein of his slick, underrated thriller The Bank Job then his recent, forgettable Seeking Justice. Check out the trailer below, along with some new stills, for the film also starring Luke Bracey and Will Patton.
Update: Watch the full trailer below.
The November Man opens on August 27th, 2014.
