Michel Gondry, the madcap visionary behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, has returned to perhaps his most celebrated medium: the music video. Gondry’s latest creation is for Metronomy’s infectious pop single “Love Letters.” In the video, the four-piece band play their tune inside a very Gondry-esque diorama while the camera circles around creating moments of forced perspective. It’s not the most elaborate concept Gondry has undertaken (his Kylie Minogue video still hurts our head) but “Love Letters” is undeniably fun for its three minute duration. Gondry will promote the video and single via a a Google+ hangout here on February 12th at 5PM GMT.

Back in the realm of cinema, Gondry will unveil his latest feature, Mood Indigo, one of the best 2014 films we’ve already seen, as part of the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Rendez-Vous with French Cinema lineup. The surreal romantic tale, adapted from the novel Foam of the Daze, received an early glowing review from us out of last year’s South by Southwest Film Festival. You can find out more about the upcoming screening and the complete lineup of French films here.

In the meantime check out the video for “Love Letters” and a batch of over 30 others, ranging from Bjork to Radiohead, in the playlist below.
