Talk about increasing my hype level from zero to through-the-roof. THR is reporting that Crank and Gamer directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in negotiations to direct the sequel to the 2007 superhero film, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
They also add that Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as Johnny Blaze, “a stunt motorcyclist who, in order to save the life of a loved one, makes a deal with the devil. His soul is twinned with that of a demon, and he becomes a flaming-skulled man driving a motorcycle from hell.”
The Dark Knight and upcoming Superman: Man of Steel writer David Goyer has completed this script and Neveldine and Taylor may take a stab at it.
It is unknown whether Neveldine and Taylor will use their eccentric style for this, but I would count on it. This is the exact kind of spark a Ghost Rider film needs. Like I previously said, count me excited.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is looking to shoot this fall.
Are you excited Neveldine/Taylor will be taking on a superhero film?
