After leaking out song by song (by song), Clint Mansell‘s full score for the Hollywood debut from Oldboy director Park Chan-wook has finally hit the web. Visually speaking, you’ll want to go into the twisted family drama Stoker knowing as little as possible, but Mansell’s score won’t be giving too much away. Also featuring a track from the renowned Phillip Glass and a closing tune from Emily Wells, it’s an early contender for one of the year’s best.
I was a fan of the film at Sundance (review here), saying, “as uncomfortable as we may be at the outcome, it’s difficult not to simply enjoy the feral, visceral events our director has concocted. Despite some missteps along the way in execution, Park Chan-wook has come to Hollywood in about the boldest way he can and his distorted vision is a welcome one in this terrain. Check out the full score below via Black Book Mag, as well as three new clips (one featuring a chilling exchange between our leads Matthew Goode and Mia Wasikowska, while another shows us a look at what happens when they try to cover up a dirty act and another featuring Nicole Kidman). And if you want to know when you’ll be able to see the film, check out the theatrical expansion rundown here.
