It’s rare when a film flies completely under the radar, but such is the case with an upcoming feature starring Kristen Bell. Not much information has leaked about the picture, The Lifeguard — no major news reports, no plot synopsis, or even known director. Luckily, we happened upon some images from the shoot, which is now taking place outside Pittsburgh, PA.
The regional publications Sewickley Patch and the Tribune-Review caught some of the action as it took place last Tuesday in Sewickley, PA, a town actually located about 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. The stills show locations that serve as the backdrop for the “quaint New England community” in which this small indie is set. More importantly, they also reveal Kristen Bell and her Party Down co-star, Martin Starr, filming scenes outside various boutiques and stores in the town. But, unfortunately, it doesn’t look to be the much-rumored reunion feature film for that show.
However, Lifeguard also sees another reunion for Bell, as another confirmed cast member is fellow Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy. There’s also been some talk of Zachary Quinto‘s involvement, but the actor publicly denied that being the case. While we await more information, one can see the first set pictures of Bell and Starr below.
Update: Deadline reports that Liz W. Garcia is directing the film, that also stars Mamie Gummer, Alex Shaffer, Joshua Harto and Amy Madigan. The film, follows “Leigh, a reporter on the verge of 30 who abandons her life in New York City, returns home to get her high school job as a lifeguard, and starts a dangerous relationship with a 16-year-old delinquent.”
Lifeguard will continue shooting in the Pittsburgh area until August 10th, and we’ll update as we get more info on this mysterious project.
Are you glad to see Bell and Starr working together again?
