Earlier today The Wire and upcoming Thor star Idris Elba told Total Film that he “has a picture deal with” Marvel, but that he couldn’t “tell you much about that,” but he says he “will be back.” After exclaiming interest in another Blade film or becoming Luke Cage, we now have some concrete news on what Marvel film we can see him next in.
Heat Vision is reporting that Elba will join Neveldine/Taylor‘s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, along with Johnny Whitworth (Gamer, The Dark Fields). This is soon after news that Ciaran Hinds has joined as the devil, “who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday.” The mother of the mortal son is played by Violante Placido. Nicolas Cage as the Ghost Rider will have to stop him.
Elba “plays an alcoholic warrior monk tasked with finding Ghost Rider.” Whitworth is a “criminal who is recruited by the devil to find the boy and is later turned into a demonic creature.” Neveldine/Taylor have written the script, spawned off an idea by David Goyer.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance starts shooting this November in Romania and Turkey.
What do you think of the cast? Do you have any interest in a Ghost Rider sequel?
