Although this year’s Being Flynn didn’t quite land, it was a noble dramatic effort and now About a Boy director Paul Weitz is back with what looks to be a fairly pleasant comedy. Teaming the always hilarious Paul Rudd with the hard-working Tina Fey (in her first major feature role since Date Night), this spring’s Admission sees the duo form an unlikely friendship going from a college to a high school campus. Coming from Focus Features, it looks like a light, enjoyable time, one perfect for a post-Oscars relaxer. Check out the trailer below for the film also starring Michael Sheen, Wallace Shawn, Gloria Reuben, Nat Wolff and Lily Tomlin.
Synopsis:
Admission is about the surprising detours we encounter on the road to happiness. Straight-laced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman (Paul Rudd). Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted — but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having.
Admission arrives on March 8th, 2013.
