We all have our vices and for Hugh Grant he is about to return to his most favorite: the romantic comedy genre. The actor recently participated in one of the craziest projects of the year with Cloud Atlas (more on that later), but now, according to a press release, the actor is heading to safer territory, once again teaming with writer/director Marc Lawrence for a new film.
The duo worked together on Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics and Did You Hear About the Morgans? and now, after a three-year break, they will shooting a project for Castle Rock Entertainment in New York this spring. Unfortunately, or perhaps exactly as you expect, the synopsis is about as generic as they come. Before we get to that, we’ve also got a neat, official Cloud Atlas mural featuring all the different time periods in one. Check it out below and click for high-resolution.
In 1998, Ray Michaels (Grant) was on top of the world — a witty, sexy, Englishman in Hollywood who had just won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. Fifteen years later, he’s creatively washed up, divorced, and broke. With no other options, he takes a job teaching screenwriting at a small college on the East Coast. Although the idea of teaching is less than thrilling, he hopes to make some easy money and enjoy the favors of impressionable young co-eds. What he doesn’t expect to find is romance with a single mom who’s gone back to school.
Cloud Atlas opens everywhere on October 26th.
