THR’s Risky Biz Blog has reported that Brad Pitt’s Plan B and the Indian Reliance BIG Entertainment firm have partnered together to pick up the rights to Capcom’s upcoming Dark Void videogame. They mention Pitt could very well star as the lead, acargo pilot named Will who, after crashing in the Bermuda Triangle, ends up in a parallel universe where a band of humans must fight an alien threat they had long been thought extinct. Will and the other humans are outmanned but have a number of weapons and powers to help them beat back the alien incursion. No writers have been hired for the project yet.

Capcom senior VP licensing Germaine Gioia said:

As a game, ‘Dark Void’ was developed with a wide-screen mentality – a world full of adventure presented in cinematic scope and scale.

I’m 100% down for something like this. The story sounds epice enough for a great blockbuster and would love to see Pitt star. Prince of Persia looks like it could open the door for the first good videogame adaptation, something I’ve been waiting for quite some time.

Dark Void hits Xbox 360, Windows, and PS3 on January 12th, 2010.

Does this sound like a good project? Would you want to see Pitt star?
