With the year winding down, it means the rush of various awards from different groups and critics circle will be upon us shortly. One of the first nominations out of the gate is for the Film Independent Spirit Awards, which will celebrate their 30th anniversary early next year. Leading the nominations is Birdman with six, including Best Feature, while Boyhood, Nightcrawler, and Selma each grabbed five.
In terms of a handful of smaller films getting recognized, it’s nice to see Land Ho!, Ida, It Felt Like Love, Force Majeure, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, and more in various categories, while The Immigrant, Under the Skin, and Only Lovers Left Alive got nods. Ahead of the ceremony on February 21st, check out all the nominations below, including Inherent Vice receiving the Robert Altman Award.
