The silly, but intriguing first look at the upcoming modest-budget sci-fi film Chronicle hinted at what could be a sleeper surprise this spring. Written by Max Landis (son of John) and directed by Josh Trank the cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Dane DeHaan, who play kids that are given superhero powers and use them to goof off.

The latest trailer via IGN only expands slightly from the first trailer, but the new clip from Machinima is more enticing. Different from the fast-cutting style found in the trailer, this single shot shows our lead controlling a spider, before obliterating it. If more of the film includes the directorial style found here, it may be more promising than we thought. Check them out below.
