The self-awareness that was utterly absent from Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is thankfully showing up in The Dark Knight’s latest adventure. Before Justice League and Ben Affleck’s stand-alone movie, another take on the superhero will arrive early next year with The LEGO Batman Movie, a spin-off surrounding Will Arnett‘s angsty, hilarious, and lonely Caped Crusader.
A new trailer has now landed, with more jokes, including an entertaining jab at the central dynamic in Snyder’s latest feature. Featuring Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), Dick Grayson/Robin (Michael Cera), Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), The Joker (Zach Galifianakis) Gotham’s mayor (Mariah Carey), and more, check out the new trailer below for what could potentially be the best DC film of next year.
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
The LEGO Batman Movie opens on February 10th, 2017.
