After crafting the Spanish dramas Mondays In The Sun, Princesas, Amador, and more, director Fernando León de Aranoa recently embarked on high highest-profile film yet, A Perfect Day. Following four aid workers in conflict zones who are involved in a race against time to save the water supply of a divided community, the cast includes Benicio Del Toro, Tim Robbins, Melanie Thierry, and Olga Kurylenko.

While we’re still awaiting news regarding a U.S. release, the drama has dropped its first trailer, which reveals a comedic tone to the proceedings. “Fast, direct, rough, a race against the clock, this film has no time to waste. Like cars in the mud, like the trucks in The Wages of Fear, like the aid workers on the ground,” Leon says. He adds, “The wittiest comments, comedy at its wildest and grittiest, its most desperate, often happens in the very midst of tragedy. Because there is no place on earth where it is more necessary. A Perfect Day is awaiting a U.S. release, but will hit theaters in Spain in April.
