Ahead of this week’s trailer debut for James Mangold‘s The Wolverine, we’ve got some new art from Fox’s superhero blockbuster. After a neat minimalist poster, unfortunately these two new one-sheets (via CS) sway towards the cheesy side, with one featuring Hugh Jackman in a rainy street and another oddly Photoshopped ninja-filled version.

Over at EW, we’ve also got eight new stills and our director tells us where this story picks up, as we see Jackman “serving as a protector for Mariko (Tao Okamoto), the target of the Yakuza.” He adds, “At the time this movie opens, there’s a kind of gangland war going on between law enforcement and the Yakuza, and there’s been a lot of kidnappings and extortion. So she’s someone who’s under threat.” Check out the posters and images below for the film also starring Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.

Update: Check out the first footage below (in the form of a Vine and then 20 seconds from MTV) and return on Wednesday for the trailer.
