After scaring millions of viewers in the first season of American Horror Story, Evan Peters is returning to his spot on the big screen alongside Juno Temple for a coming-of-age drama. According to Deadline, the pair will be leading writer-director Tony Aloupis‘s feature debut, titled Truck Stop.

The ’70s-set drama “centers around an unlikely friendship between a high-schooler with cerebral palsy (Peters) and a troubled runaway with a dark past (Temple)”. The first-time director collaborated on Rotimi Rainwater‘s 2011 film, Sugar, of which he lent his writing talent to. The Hacienda Film Company’s Cory Neal and Andrew Mysko will produce alongside Aloupis Productions’ Joe Kreig.

To be honest, I’m not all that familiar with Temple‘s work — which is kind of sad on my part, mainly because she has been gaining celebrity status in the recent years with her work in The Three Musketeers, as well as the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace, and The Dark Knight Rises. On the other hand, I watched every episode of the FX horror drama American Horror Story and saw Kick-Ass, so I am aware of what Peters is capable of, and it should be interesting to see him transform into a high school student with cerebral palsy. They’re both young, up-and-coming stars, so Truck Stop could be something to look out for in the near future. Filming is currently underway.
