Deadline has informed us that London-based Derby Street Films has just made a six-figure deal for the Jonathan Stokes script Blood Mountain, which made its way onto last year’s Black List. Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield are producing for Movie Package Co. with James Gibb and alongside executive producers Nicola Horlick, Rachel Durkin, Brookly Weavera and Stokes.

Blood Mountain is about a young Army Ranger whose team is ambushed and killed in Pakistan. He “must escort the world’s most wanted terrorist over dangerous terrain in order to bring him to justice. While being hunted by both of their enemies, they must find a way to work together in order to survive.” The script has also been “described as a gritty survival thriller with action elements.” Stokes has another action project, El Gringo, in production right now and will be hitting theaters mid July in the UK.

Derby Street Films, run by Horklick, will take advantage of the Enterprise Investment Scheme in the UK, which helps them develop different projects for eventual sale to studios, financiers and even TV networks or cable channels. Since they’re relatively new, they have a goal to develop upwards of 25 projects over the next three years. They also intend on finding a director for Blood Mountain pretty quick, so stay tuned.
