Albert Maysles‘ penultimate film, Iris, is now in limited release, and while you can enjoy it plenty fine as an entirely standalone piece, there are some things you might want to give a peek before heading out to the local independent theater. And despite the fact that only one directly involves that picture and its main subject, these looks — ranging from festival Q & As to one-on-one interviews to, of all things, a TED Talk — at the director’s particular process should help enrich the experience. (To say nothing of numerous other great works Maysles put his name on over the past several decades.) Who could resist such extensive time with a man this smart?
