Although The Twilight Saga will (thankfully) conclude later this year, that hasn’t stopped Peter Facinelli from finding some new work. According to THR, the actor will be taking on another supernatural horror project titled Gallows Hill, which will also star Sophia Myles (Underworld) and Nathalia Ramos.
Directed by Víctor García (Mirrors 2) and penned by Richard D’Ovidio (Thirteen Ghosts), the film “follows an American (Facinelli), widowed from his Colombia-born wife, who flies to Bogota with his new fiancée (Myles) to retrieve his rebellious teenage daughter Jill (Ramos). After a car accident leaves them stranded in a rundown isolated inn, they discover the old inkeeper has locked a young girl in the basement and their decision to set her free has unintended consequences.”
The story line seems a bit redundant, but that’s the going trend these days, so I guess I can’t really ask for much more on that front. As for Facinelli, his work in Twilight is pretty bland — which isn’t entirely his fault, all things considered — so his involvement doesn’t really rope me into this project, either. On the other hand, Garcia has done some work on the horror genre front (Return to House on Haunted Hill and Hellraiser: Revelations) which could hopefully help the project just a bit.
David Higgins will be producing for Launchpad Productions, alongside Peter Block and Andrea Chung. Since shooting is taking place in Bogota, some natives to Colombia — Carolina Guerra (A Corazon Abierto) and Diego Cadavid — will also be joining the cast.
